Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Hi, I’m Wajid.

I'm a product designer who loves to create innovative digital experiences and inclusive products for everyone. Here's why I believe we should talk.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

 ABOUT ME

I have worked in the media and tech industry for the last ten years. In my previous role as Technical Director at Disney's Lucasfilm, I developed and implemented multiple new artist-facing tools. These tools were used in the VFX production of many award-winning films (Rango, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Ready Player One) and resulted in a 55% increase in artist efficiency across our company.

From VFX to UX

In 2020 I decided to turn my career focus on a new path for professional growth and joined the UX Academy to become a UX & Product Designer. I became proficient in the whole design process, from research to ideation and prototyping, to creating meaningful digital experiences using user-centric methodologies. Some of my featured work includes responsive web design for Vytal Events, redesign of Plugshare Trips and a brand new app and platform for finding diamonds and gemstones called Origem.

I'm especially interested in inclusive design and how its influence expands any product's reach to marginalized communities and related user groups.

Other things I love

In my free time, I love watching movies (no spoilers there). I also enjoy taking amazing photos and traveling around the world. Some of my favorite activities include skydiving, parasailing, zorbing, white-water rafting, and snorkeling in the Indian ocean.

ABOUT YOU

I am a 90's kid, and Microsoft was a big part of my youth. Microsoft made the best products in the industry and genuinely turned the web into an exciting place for everyone. While growing up in Pakistan, everything I learned about design was on a PC filled with your best applications.

That’s why I have always wanted to work for Microsoft. And let’s be honest …

We are a great fit

You need a fantastic designer with an equally impressive work ethics (just ask my previous employer). You also need somebody who will take ownership of your projects, thrive on feedback, and always keep an eye on your team's big picture.

There are a few reasons I may not be the "perfect candidate. My past experience is film-focused, and I've just recently pivoted to UX design. This is also a high-profile job in a legendary company. Who wouldn't covet such a fantastic opportunity? I certainly do, but I also take this challenge seriously. Whether it's innovating on Windows apps or embarking on the digital transformation of another product, it will invite an incredible amount of scrutiny from thousands of loyal users.

This is clearly a position that requires someone who understands the entire design process, from research to ideation and rapid prototyping, to testing these ideas with real users.

I can do all that. And more.

I love challenges and love the idea of working with brilliant people, whom I admire and respect. I know what it means to work together to make something great. And I look forward to learning from Microsoft and making Microsoft better by my addition.

DESIGN SAMPLES

Here are some things I designed that I'm really proud of. I've been the sole UX/UI designer on all of them and created Information Architecture, Interaction Design, and Prototypes after performing comprehensive User Research.
